Amazon has introduced its first smartphone called the Fire Phone in June, 2014. The box packs a phone, USB charging cable and power adapter, premium headphones with remote and mic, quick start guide and a warranty card. Let's take a closer look at the specifications of Amazon Fire Phone.

Design and Display

Amazon Fire Phone is designed by using a bar format along with high quality materials which makes it more solid. The phone not only looks good but even feels good to hold. The dimension figures include a height of 139.2mm, width of 66.5mm and a thickness of 8.9mm along with a weight of 160 grams. The overall look of phone is impressive with a nice HD LCD display of 4.7-inches which provides a good resolution of 1280x720 pixels and a 312ppi pixel density. There is a single centrally placed hard key present below the display for home.

Hardware and Software

The Fire Phone is powered by a super fast Quad-core 2.2 GHz processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip-set and Adreno 330 GPU. It runs on the latest version of Firefox 3.5.0 operating system and has a massive RAM of 2 GB. There are two options available for internal storage: one is 32 GB and other is 64 GB. There is no memory card slot available in this phone.

Telephony and Messaging

The device supports 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz), 3G (UMTS 850/900/1700/1900/2100MHz) and 4G (LTE 700/800/850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600MHz) frequencies for faster data speeds. Call quality offered is good at all the times. The phonebook can store an unlimited number of contacts. SMS, MMS, email and IM are the messaging facilities available on this smartphone. 

Camera

Amazon Fire Phone has a brilliant 13 MP rear shooter that takes 4160x3120 pixels resolution pictures. It is featured with an LED flash, optical image stabilization, auto-focus and multi frame HDR. The camera delivers extremely good shots in day as well as night light. On the other hand, the front-facing camera has a 2.1 MP count that takes 1600x1200 resolution selfies and allows the users to video conferencing.

Multimedia

The Fire Phone comes with an impressive Dolby digital music player with dual stereo speakers which gives you an amazing sound quality which is even better with the supplied headphones. The video camera can record full HD 1080p videos. You can record from the camera simultaneously which makes recording very interesting. It comes pre-loaded with various amazon apps and tools for the entertainment and comfort of users.

Connectivity and Battery

The networking and connectivity options loaded in this Fire Phone includes GPRS, EDGE, 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 wireless technology, NFC, GPS and micro USB v2.0. The device is fueled by a Li-Ion 2400 mAh battery which offers an extensive talk-time up to 22 hours and stand-by time up to 285 hours.

Shades
