Asus may be famous as a computer manufacturer in the United States, but it is also known for making quirky devices that combine 2 gadgets into one package. One of its famous creation is a handset that changes into a tablet, called the PadFone. It is a dual SIM device and got released in January, 2014. The box contents includes a charger, handset, earphone and USB cable. Let's take a look at the features and specifications of this smartphone:

Display and Dimensions

The dual SIM device consists of 2 separate pieces, a tablet dock and a smartphone unit. The smartphone is easy to hold and has metallic strip with concentric semicircles at the top that are also present in other ZenFones. Below the screen, there are Back, Home and Menu keys are available and has no backlit. The loudspeaker is present next to the primary camera. The plastic back is not slippery, so you will not find any problem while holding it. The display size of smartphone is 4.3 inches which offers a resolution of 800x540 pixels. The dimensions are measured as 129.3x65.6x8.7mm and holds a weight of 105 grams. The pixel density is 256ppi and has 16 million color support.

On the other hand tablet unit is concerned, it is devoid of basic features such as earphone jack, loudspeaker, front and rear cameras. It comes with a 7 inch display that poses a resolution of 1280x960 pixels. The dimensions are measured as 129.3x119.5x11.8-17.7mm and weighs at 105 grams.

Processor and Operating System

The ASUS Padfone Mini is powered by a 1.4 GHz Quad-core processor accompained with Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8226 chipset and Adreno 305 GPU. It is coupled with 1GB RAM in order to store files, documents, songs, videos and movies. On the software side, it works on Android v4.3 Jelly Bean operating system.

Camera and Storage

It supports an 8MP auto-focus rear snapper and a 2MP front shooter. The primary camera comes with LED flash which is meant to take pictures in low light conditions. It offers a resolution of 3264x2448 pixels. The front shooter is good for video calls but don't expect it to capture high quality selfies. It comes with 16GB internal memory that is further expandable upto 64GB by using microSD card.

Battery and Connectivity

The best things about the device is that you get 2 batteries for specially one device: a large 2,200mAh in the tablet and another non-removable Li-PO 1500 mAh pack in the tablet. On the connectivity side, it is being offered with options like bluetooth, USB, GPS, EDGE, GPRS and Wi-Fi.
