First Smartphone by BlackBerry

BlackBerry 7100t was the first smartphone by BlackBerry without a discrete qwerty keyboard along with introducing the world with their predictive text technology called SureType and had candybar form factor. It was released by the end of 2004 and was highly praised for its design as well as features. It came in a pack with a Li-Ion battery having a stand by time of up to 200 hours and a talk time of up to 5 hours, a charger, a data cable and a quick user guide. It had a height of 119mm, a width of 58mm and a thickness of 19mm as its dimensions along with a weight of 120gms and ran on 2G(GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz) network. It was sold on Airtel, Vodafone and T-Mobile carriers around the globe in some beautiful shades. It was also the first smartphone by BlackBerry which was aimed specifically for consumers rather than businesses.

BlackBerry 7100t had got a 2.36-inch, LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 240x260 pixels, 65k colors display and 150ppi pixel density along with some beautiful wallpapers. It had a RAM of 4MB along with an internal memory of 32MB and was based on BlackBerry OS. Its other features includes a HTML browser, an organizer, Java downloadable games, SureType predictive text input, a 2.5mm audio jack, a loudspeaker, computer sync, SyncML, TTY/TDD support and many others. For messaging, it included SMS, MMS, E-mail and IM and for connectivity, it had got a GPRS, a Bluetooth and a USB port.
