The Dell Streak 5 may no longer be out in the market with the release of its successor, the Streak 7 (and eventually, the Streak 10), but a trip down memory lane won’t hurt as it would help one’s understanding on where Dell is coming from in coming up with its latest line up. Launched last year, the Streak 5 was slightly bigger than some mobile phones but smaller than most tablet computers. Reviews had bashed the model for its poor screen resolution and for operating in an old Android version.
Nevertheless, the Streak 5 can be remembered for its 5 inches TFT touch screen with 480x800 pixels resolution. It has an internal memory of up to 16GB storage, expandable up to 32 GB via microSD. Connectivity is available through GPRS, EDGE, 3G, WLAN, Bluetooth and USB 2.0. The Streak 5 also has a built-in 5 MP camera and runs in a 1 GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 200 GPU, and Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon chipset.
