Design

Fly DS500 released in the year 2008. It is a Dual SIM (GSM + GSM ) phone with basic features. The box contents includes a handset, charger, handsfree and USB cable.

Display and Dimensions

The phone is designed in a slider format. The front panel consists of a touchscreen and a navigation button. On sliding the phone upward, you will get a numeric keypad. Fly DS500 has a height of 100 mm, a width of 50 mm and a thickness of 15.5 mm as its dimensions and a weight of 110 grams. It has got a 2.2 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen that provide a resolution of 240x320 pixels.

Memory

It has an inbuilt memory of 8 MB which can be expanded with a microSD slot. The phone can hold the record of 20 dialed, received and missed calls. Also, you can store 1,000 entries in the phonebook.

Camera and Image Quality

The phone has a rear camera of 2 MP with Zoom that provides a resolution of 1600x1200 pixels.

Entertainment

The handset is good to use for entertainment purposes as it features image viewer, video recorder and video player. The phone also avails a music player with audio equalizer. User can tune to FM radio or can play games as well. Availability of loudspeaker and the Java support further enhances its performance.

Connectivity Options Battery Life

The device comes with connectivity options for GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth, USB and Handsfree. The phone comes equipped with a standard battery of 900 mAh, which ensures uninterrupted stand-by time of 220 hours and talk-time of 3 hours.

Other Features

On the messaging part, you can do SMS, MMS, EMS, Email and Push Mail. The device has certain features to ease the user like calculator, alarm clock, stop watch, world time, tasks, calender, sync and unit convertor.

Verdict

Fly DS500 features touchscreen with Dual SIM facility and has good camera features. But as per the reviews of experts and users, its built quality and touchscreen is really poor.
