Forme company announced its Forme Discovery P9 smartphone in January, 2014. It is a touchscreen mobile offering good features. Its pack includes a handset, battery, charger, USB cable, earphones, user manual and warranty card.

Design and Display

It has a casual bar format with rounded corners. The dimension figures of this average looking phone includes a height of 117.3 mm, width of 60.6 mm and thickness of 13 mm. It front panel has a 3.5 inches TFT screen with a resolution of 480x320 pixels.

Hardware and Software

Discovery P9 carries 1 GHz single core Spreadtrum processor with the support of 256 MB RAM. On the software part, it has an Android v2.3.5 Gingerbread Operating System along with proximity and G sensors. To store files and applications, it has 512 MB of on-board storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card.

Telephony and Messaging

This is a dual SIM handset with Dual Standby support. This gives you an advantage of using two GSM connections at the same time on one handset. It works on GSM 900 / 1800 MHz frequencies of 2G network. For messaging, it facilitates SMS, MMS and Email.

Camera

For photography, it has a decent 3 MP rear camera which takes pictures at a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. The camera can easily be turned into camcorder to record videos.

Entertainment

For entertainment, it packs a music player, video player, image viewer, sound recorder, FM radio, 3.5 mm audio jack and embedded games. The audio formats supported by the device are MP3, AAC, AMR and video files supported are 3GP and MP4.

Connectivity and Battery

The connectivity attributes includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPRS and EDGE. The device also gives you the power of sharing files with its Bluetooth and USB feature. On the battery front, it carries a Li-ion battery of 1350 mAh.
