Gionee Marathon M4 is a power-packed smartphone launched by Gionee in its Marathon series. It was announced in August, 2015. The main highlight of the phone is its battery which is of 5000mAh unit. Its design is beautiful and the smartphone packs an impressive set of features. It comes with large screen, Lollipop operating system, quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM and good camera. It falls in a mid-range smartphone category and its main rivals are Xiaomi Mi 4, Asus Zenfone 2 and Microsoft Lumia 640 XL. Let's take a brief look on its specifications:

Display and Design

The smartphone is designed by using a bar format and designers have chosen unique cutting technology in designing it. It is laminated with Matt metal body at the back. Its front comes dominated by a 5.0-inch HD Super AMOLED display which provides a screen resolution of 1280x720 pixels. Its dimensions has a measure of 144.7 mm height, 71.2 mm width, 10.18 mm thickness and it weighs at 176 grams. It means the device is a thick and bulky. Moreover, it requires careful handling because of its size.

Processor and OS

The device comes powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-core Cortex-A7 processor, 2 GB RAM and ARM Mali400 MP GPU. Together its enough for handling multiple tasks and it makes all process fast. The operating system version offered in this smartphone is an Android V5.0 Lollipop.

Camera and Memory

For photography, it brings 8 MP camera on back frame with LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR mode, face beauty, panorama and Take anytime features. For the front shots, it has 5 MP camera. Both the cameras support good quality video recording. To store sufficient data, it comes loaded with an internal memory of 16 GB which can be further expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card.

It supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE network frequencies. It also includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot,  Bluetooth v2.0, GPS/A-GPS service as its connectivity options. The apps like Saavn, Gionee Xender, WeChat, Whatsapp, Facebook, Yahoo Cricket, Amigo Paper and Gamezone comes pre-loaded in the phone. For the backup, it relies on 5000mAh battery that resides under the hood and provides 440 hour standby time on 4G network. It is rated to deliver 50 hours of talktime on 2G and 18 hours on 3G.
