Idea is a mobile manufacturing telecommunications company that has announced a new smartphone the !d 4000 in June, 2014. The box comes packed with a handset, charger, headset, battery, USB cable, user manual and a warranty card. The phone is discussed in detail below.

Design and Display

The Idea !d 4000 is a decent phone which is designed by using a bar format. The phone is easy to use and handle, all thanks to its curved edges. The smartphone comes with a HVGA capacitive touchscreen of 3.5-inches which gives a resolution of 320x480 pixels. The front panel also features three soft keys for back, home and options.

Hardware and Software

The Idea !d 4000 is powered by a dual-core 1.0GHz processor along with a RAM of 512 MB. The phone has an internal memory of 4 GB which can be expanded up to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. It is an Android OS, v4.2 Jelly Bean based smartphone which handles the apps efficiently.

Telephony and Messaging

This dual SIM (GSM+WCDMA) device operates on 2G (GSM 900/1800 MHz) and 3G (HSDPA 2100 MHz) network frequencies. The phonebook can store an unlimited number of contacts. For messaging and mailing, it has SMS, MMS and email facilities.

Camera

The phone has a 3.2 MP rear camera which provides a photo resolution of 2048x1536 pixels and is featured with fixed-focus and digital zoom. Unfortunately, the phone does not have a front camera for video chatting purposes.

Connectivity and Battery

The connectivity attributes of the phone includes GPRS, EDGE, GPS, A-GPS, 3G, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, micro USB and hands-free connectivity. The Idea !d 4000 comes equipped with a Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery which offers a talk-time up to 7 hours and stand-by time up to 433 hours.
