Intex Technologies is an Indian firm that was formed in the year 1996. It deals with five business segments which are Mobiles Phones, Retail, IT accessories, Enterprise Solutions and Consumer Durables. Intex Aqua 3G is its latest creation under the aqua series of smartphones. The company has already launched 32 smartphones under this series and is still planning to introduce 8 more handsets in the next quarter. Aqua 3G is one of the cheapest smartphone with 3G support and is meant to target the first time buyers of India.

Design and Display

The phone has got a bar shape with curved edges, making it easy to hold and carry. It's front is featured with a 4 inch LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480x800 pixels. The three touch sensitive buttons beneath the screen and a sleek bezel around it adds to the beauty of the phone. The back panel is all plain surface and has a camera and loudspeaker grill affixed on the top.

Hardware and Software

The phone has integrated the 1 GHz Dual Core processor with Android v4.2 Jelly Bean Operating System. It has been assisted with 256 MB RAM and internal memory of 512 MB which can later be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card.

Telephony and Messaging

This 3G smartphone comes with the Dual SIM ( GSM + CDMA ) facility and Dual stand-by support. That means you can remain active on the networks at the same time but one SIM will work on 3G network speed and the other on 2G speed. On the messaging front, it facilitates SMS and MMS along with the support of T9 dictionary and Predictive Text input feature that helps to type faster and accurately.

Camera

For the camera seekers, it has packed a 2 MP rear shooter that provide a resolution of 1600x1200 pixels. For video chat and self portrait shots, Intex has added a 0.3 MP front camera as well.

Entertainment

Considering entertainment, it comes loaded with a music player, video recorder and video player. User can play the embedded games, tune to FM radio or can stay connected with friends using its SNS integration feature. Support of 3.5 mm audio jack lets you to use any headset with the phone. Plus the loudspeaker facility lets you enjoy the music even when you are away from the phone. Sound quality is decent both while playing music and taking calls.

Connectivity and Battery

On the connectivity part, the phone is GPRS and Wi-Fi enabled. Its GPS feature with A-GPS support helps in accurate navigation. The Bluetooth facility with A2DP support helps to transfer high quality audio tracks from one device to another through wireless transmission. On the other side, its USB support helps in PC synchronization and transferring data from PC to phone and vice-versa. Talking about its battery backup, it comes fueled with a Li-ion battery of 1400 mAh.

The phone is available in Black, Silver and White shades at a price of Rs 3,555 approximately.
