Overview

Reasonably Priced Small Sized Smartphone By Lava
By Amrit

Lava Iris 370 is a reasonably priced small sized smartphone announced in April, 2015. Considering its low price, the presence of 3G connectivity is appreciable. It is a dual SIM handset which supports 2G (GSM 1800 / 900 MHz) and 3G (HSDPA 2100 MHz) network frequencies. It is an entry level device which is listed in 2 color variants. The brief description of this smartphone is discussed below:

Display and Dimensions

It features a 3.5 inch multi-touch HVGA TFT display delivering decent viewing experience with a resolution of 480x320 pixels leading to a pixel density of 165 ppi. It shows off a color depth of 262k. It has got the dimensions of 110x61.4x11.5 mm and holds a weight of 120 grams. This handset is light weight and can be easily carried around.

Processor and Operating System

The dual SIM smartphone is backed by a 1 GHz single core processor which is assembled with 512 MB RAM which is quite poor for the efficient functioning of the device. Due to low RAM, the handset can work slowly and can't handle the multi tasking properly. It runs Android v4.4.2 (KitKat) out-of-the-box.

Camera and Storage

On imaging front, it supports a 2 MP auto-focus rear camera with LED flash which is able to record a resolution of 1600x1200 pixels. At the front panel you can see 0.3 MP camera which is used for the purpose of selfies and video calls. You can't expect clear selfies from this shooter. For storage purposes, the handset houses 512 MB internal memory which is expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card.

Connectivity and Battery

Coming to the connectivity front, the device offers GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi as options. It is backed up by a Li-ion 1300 mAH battery which is claimed to deliver up to 7 hours of talktime and up to 250 hours of standby time on 2G and up to 6 hours of talktime and up to 240 hours of standby time on 3G network.

Shades and Price

The Lava Iris 370 comes in two color options i.e. Black/Blue and Black/Red. It is available at the price of INR 2,679.
