LG is a Korean multinational company that deals with the manufacturing of various electronic products. It has 5 business units and more than 110 operations worldwide. It is the second largest television manufacturer and third largest mobile-phone maker in the world. The LG G3 S is the newly announced, mid range 4G enabled Android smartphone. It is also known by the name LG G3 Beat. Its box contents include a handset, charger, battery, stereo ear microphone, USB data cable, quick circle case, quick start guide and warranty card.

Design and Display

Design wise, LG G3 S features a nice pocket friendly, curved metallic body carved in dimensions figures of 137.7 mm in height, 69.6 mm in width and 10.3 mm in thickness. This gadget weighing 134 grams features a nice 5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels.

Hardware and Software

Powering the device is the 1.2 GHz Quad Core Cortex A-7 processor which comes coupled with 1 GB RAM and Adreno 305 graphics processor. Complimenting the high end hardware is the latest Android v4.4 KitKat Operating system accompanied by 8 GB of on-board storage along with the option of expansion up to 64 GB with a microSD card.

Telephony and Messaging

LG G3 S is a Dual SIM handset which operates on 2G GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz, 3G HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz and 4G LTE 800 / 1800 / 2600 MHz network frequencies. For messaging, it comes up with the options of SMS, MMS, IM, Email, Push Mail, RSS. Various social networking services like support for Facebook, Twitter, Gmail etc have also been availed to stay in touch with friends and relatives.

Camera

To meet the camera requirements, it has a 8 MP rear shooter with features like digital zoom, auto-focus, LED Flash, Geo-tagging, Face Detection and HDR mode. The camera can also be turned into a camcorder to enable video recording at a resolution of 1080 pixels with 30 frames per second. Also the company has affixed a 1.3 MP front snapper to enable selfies and video chatting.

Entertainment

For the music buffs, the device has installed a music player and a FM radio. The support for 3.5 mm audio jack further lets you to connect earphones of your choice. The listening experience is amazing, thanks to its active noise cancellation technology. Other than this, users are given the option to view and record videos, edit images and videos, record the voice or play games. The Java environment support and the HTML5 browser further lets the user to add numerous applications and games to their phone.

On the networking part, LG G3 S comes loaded with almost all the popular connectivity options. It has the 3G and 4G speeds to connect with the web using Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, GPRS, NFC and EDGE. Thus, the websites will load at a lightening fast speed. GPS along with the support of A-GPS is also there to help you navigate through unknown places. Bluetooth via A2DP and microUSB connectivity is also present to help in streaming files and PC synchronization. To keep the tasks going for longer durations, the device has been fueled with a Li-ion battery of 2540 mAh.
