LG KS660 Design and Build Quality

The all touchscreen LG KS660 is a candy bar style device. Its black colored body is a mix of plastic and rubberized material. This gives the KS660 a solid build quality. Below the resistive touchscreen are four physical buttons.

User Interface and Comfort to Use LG KS660

There is a proprietary LG user interface that is simple for anyone to pick up and start using. The device itself is small enough to fit in your hand comfortably. If not for the resistive touchscreen, you could navigate easily on the device with one hand.

Telephony and Phonebook

Up to 1000 entries can be stored on the device. You can store a picture for each contact entry if you desire. 40 missed, received, and dialled calls will also be stored.

Messaging and Emails

You will have all your communication needs met with SMS, EMS, MMS, and email access capability.

Gallery, Photo Viewer and Video Player

There is a gallery that stores your pictures on the KS660. The video player will support MP4, h.263, H.264, and RV files. The resolution on the device is fairly low and it is only a 3 inch screen. You shouldn't have high expectations when watching media.

LG KS660 Music Player and FM Radio

A microSD card that is as large as 8 GB can expand the memory the KS660. This will be necessary if you want to play your own music files. MP3, WMA, RA, and AAC+ files are all supported. A stereo FM radio player will allow you to listen to local music stations. Audio quality is about average at best.

LG KS660 Camera and Image Quality

A 5MP camera is capable to outputting 2592x1944 resolution shots. There is an LED flash and auto focus feature. Neither of these features prevents the poor image quality from the device.

Video Camera and Video Quality

You can take video at 720x480 resolution at 15 frames per second. The video quality will also be a disappointment.

LG KS660 Connectivity Options

This dual SIM device can hop onto a 2G GSM network on 900, 1800, and 1900 bands.

Organizer and other Utility Tools

Built in tools include an organizer, voice memo, and document viewer.

Web Browser and Applications

You can have access to the internet using a WAP 2.0 HTML browser. Browsing experience will be less than ideal due to the poor browser quality.

Google Maps and GPS

GPS is not available on the KS660.

Value for Money

The KS660 is available at a price starting at Rs. 13,500 (approx., may vary).

Verdict

A poor camera, battery life, and touchscreen quality all equate to a very frustrating experience. The best thing to do is to skip over the KS660 and find a better quality device.
