Maximus Inc is a fast growing company in Telecom sector. Its Maximus MAX 16 is an Android based smartphone that is available in the markets of Bangladesh only. Its pack contents include a handset, battery, charger, USB cable and user manual.

Design and Display

Max 16 has a beautiful sleek and long body carved in a bar shape. It has 118 mm of height, 62 mm of width and 10.2 mm of thickness as its dimensions. Its front is featured with a 3.5 inches HVGA capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 320x480 pixels and 165ppi pixel density.

Hardware and Software

The device houses a MTK6572M 1 GHz Dual Core processor along with 256 MB RAM and comes coupled with Android v4.2 Jelly Bean Operating System. Its on-board storage stands at 512 MB which can be expanded up to 32 GB with a microSD card. Presence of G sensor further enhances the operations.

Telephony and Messaging

Max 16 is a dual SIM device that supports two GSM connections and both stays active all the time. It runs on 2G ( GSM 900 / 1800 MHz ) and 3G ( UMTS 2100 MHz ) network frequencies. Also, it has the ability to store unlimited entries in its phonebook. On the messaging front, the user can do SMS, MMS, SMS Chat and Group SMS.

Camera

It has a 2 MP rear shooter that takes decent pictures in normal light conditions. For video chat and self portrait shots, Maximus has added a 0.3 MP front camera as well.

Entertainment

Considering entertainment, it comes installed with a music player, video player, image viewer and voice recorder. User can also enjoy listening to FM radio or playing games in his/ her leisure time. Plus the inbuilt Playstore app lets you download various games, applications, movies and e-books with just a click. User can set mp3 and wav formats of audio files as ringtone on the phone or can switch to the vibration mode if in a meeting. Presence of loudspeaker and 3.5 mm audio jack further increases the capabilities of the phone.

Connectivity and Battery

You can connect to the internet using GPRS, EDGE or WLAN options. The Bluetooth and USB support further enables data transfer. It packs a Li-ion battery of 1300 mAh that gives a decent battery backup.

The phone is available at a price of BDT 4,050 which accounts to INR 3150 approximately (may vary).
