Micromax X445 Design and Build Quality

Micromax A445 is touch bar shaped and made of plastic. The weight of the phone is just over 100grams and the dimensions are 110x55.2x14.2mm. The hone feels comfortable in hand but it is a little think to keep in your pocket comfortably. The phone is available in silver colour and looks very attractive. The battery of the phone lasts for about 4 hours when using it for talking and basic messaging.

User Interface and Comfort to Use Micromax X445

The phone is one of the few entry level phones to have a vivid touchscreen. The screen of the phone is 3.2-inch TFT screen with 265000 colours and 176X220 resolutions. The display of the phone is good and the UI is easy to use. The phone’s inbuilt UI is quite simple to use and easy to navigate. The phone has an internal memory of 128 MB and it can be extended to 8GB using a MicroSD card.

Telephony and Phonebook

The best feature of the phone is the Dual SIM capability. The phone only supports 2G with dual SIM. The call connectivity is good. The phonebook capacity is 1000 contacts only. Call logs can be easily accessed from the screen.

Messaging and Emails

The phone only supports SMS functions. The phone does not support MMS and Email functions. You can store up to 500 messages on the phone.

Gallery, Photo Viewer and Video Player

Phone’s gallery can be accessed through the main menu on the screen. The photo viewer on the phone is simple. You can scroll sideways to view the pictures and zoom in for a closer look. Large size files might create a memory problem. Video player on the device supports MP4, 3GP, and AVI formats. The phone comes with a 4GB card, which is preloaded with 15 Bollywood movies. You can enjoy them on the 3.2-inch screen comfortably.

The phone supports a wide range of music formats including MP3, AMR, MID, WAV, and IMY and can play Polyphonic, MP3, AMR, and WAV ringtones. The FM radio of the phone has a recording feature to let you record your favourite numbers. The sound quality of the phone is good with medium volume levels. You can also record your own voice.

Sadly, the phone lags behind in this one section. The phone has a basic 0.3MP camera with no flash, focus etc. features. You can take some basic photo from the phone but they are not worth writing home about.

Video Camera and Video Quality

Video can be recorded from the camera but again are very pixelated and the voice recording along with the video is not clear and has lot of interference.

The phone has Bluetooth, GPRS and USB connectivity. WAP browser makes connecting to internet easy.

The phone has all the basic features that are need by an average user to organize the day. These include alarm, calendar, torch, calculator, converter, and games. Special features of the mobile include E-Book, Power Saver, Mobile Tracker, Mobile TV, 15 pre-loaded Bollywood movies.

WAP browser works on GPRS and there are no other applications installed on the phone.
