Smart Sliding GPS Smartphone

The Nokia 6110 Navigator is a 3G Smartphone which comes with a slide opening mechanism which is easy to open with a single hand. The phone comes in a black & silver coloured casing which is highly stylish. The handset weighs a total of 125 grams & feels good to hold in the users hand with it's 49mm width, 20mm depth & 101mm height. It is easy to operate & a pleasure to use with all it's high quality business & media features. The phone comes with a large 2.2 Inch colour QVGA type screen which displays up to 16 million colours for the user to enjoy all their imaging features. The screen comes with a high screen resolution which is 320 x 240 pixels & provides a clear & bright display.

The sliding mechanism is extremely sturdy, there's a nice firm clunk when you open or close it, and there's no looseness in either mode. The phone can be opened and closed with one hand, and it's comfortable to hold when making calls as the bulk of the weight is in the keypad section. The front and back covers are a glossy plastic, with a matt metallic silver middle section that allows you to grip the phone more easily. The screen is surrounded by a brushed steel frame. The back cover has a brushed steel middle section that covers the camera, part of which can be retracted to reveal the lens and flash. The steel camera cover got stained fairly quickly by fingerprints, although the screen frame didn't stain at all.

The 6110 Navigator uses the Route 66 application with NAVTEQ maps. Nokia has done an excellent job integrating Nokia Navigator application into the handset, as a simple list menu remains, and the application can be launched by a single press of the dedicated navigation button. The navigational interface is almost identical to a standard Series 60 handset, with all menu options clearly labelled for ease of use. The GPS experience is an almost exact replica of a dedicated in-car unit, minus the large touch screen, but with the added portability factor. The 6110 does take a little longer than dedicated units to lock onto a GPS signal though, sometimes taking up to three or four minutes, but averaging about a minute and a half.

The high quality Smartphone features include an attachment viewer which allows the user to view attachments in popular file formats including Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint. The phone comes with quad band network technology which allows the user to enjoy worldwide roaming with GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900 & WCDMA 2100. It has a Symbian operating system complete with S60 software & the phone comes with a wide selection of language support.
