Stylish Touch Phone

The Motorola ROKR E6 is a desirable smartphone which comes with all the business functions & entertainment feature that all users will enjoy. The handset is highly attractive & eye catching with its large touch screen which displays up to 262k colours for the user to view on the 2.4 Inch screen. The ROKR E6 comes with its own stylus which fits neatly into the side of the handset when the stylus is not in use.

The smartphone comes with navigation keys complete with backlight, which are situated under the beautiful colour touch screen. The back of the phone has steel Motorola logo almost in the center.

On the top, there is a slightly elevated square which nestles the 2 MP camera and there is a tiny circular mirror to assist clicking self portrait images. There is a slider notch next to the lens to change the camera mode from Landscape to Macro.

The right top corner of the elevated dotted square camouflages a fingertip sized circular speaker of the phone. There is no protection for the camera lens and its glassy gets smudgy pretty easy. The E6 houses a touch-sensitive TFT screen that measures 2.4 inches diagonally and can display up to 262K colors. Its brightness is sufficient and color rendering is good.

You can save some battery life by tuning down the brightness, but the backlight cannot be turned off completely. Usability under direct sunlight is reduced due to the lack of anti-reflective coating. The camera is a 2 megapixel CMOS with a manual control that allows you to switch between macro and normal modes.

The camera can be called up by pressing the shutter key when at the standby screen. It only takes a second for the camera to start and you are ready to shoot; this is surprisingly fast for a smartphone.

You can also use the E6 as a modem and connect it to your PC via USB 2.0 to transfer data or sync it with your PC for your schedules, tasks contacts back up etc. With EDGE you're web connectivity is certainly faster as well. The E6 can also download your mails for you as it does have Push Mail functionality. An FM radio is built-in and its reception is acceptable. You can save your favorite stations, but radio programs cannot be recorded.

The radio will be muted should you receive a call, and resumed automatically when you are done. Overall, the Motorola ROKR E6 is a decent multimedia phone but it lacks the extra oomph to set it apart from its Symbian and Windows Mobile smart phone competitors.
