The phone is available with in Tata Teleservices. Samsung Duo is a unique phone that supports both GSM and CDMA technology simultaneously. It allows users to use two GSM or two CDMA or one of each sim cards at the same time. The release of Samsung Duo is because of increasing demand of dual Sim-cards cellular phone in Asia beginning year 2007.
It has 2.2-inch touch screen that supports handwriting recognition, 1.3-MegaPixel digital camera, MP3 player, and microSD expansion slot. Besides that, the Duo is also a good business phone as it supports document files in excel, word and PDF formats. It packs-in handwriting recognition, file viewer, sketch memo, organiser, and India-specific applications like Panchang or Indian calendar, Hinglish, mobile prayer, and cricket scorer. Another selling point of Duo is its built-in blasting stereo speakers that output high quality of surround sounds.
