Maxabout.comEditor ReviewClassy Touch Screen Windows MobileSunday, February 24, 2008The Touch comes very light and compact in a Black rubber finish throughout. A handful of buttons are so placed as to simply deck the phone with tiny light green and red lights. There’s also the five-way D-pad made of a thin squared line of steel. And of course, you have the screen leveling the front to give the Touch its candy bar look. The phone measures 99.9 x 58 x 13.9 mm and weighs 112g. Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional OS has been around enough for everyone interested in Pocket PC to have become familiar with it. To start with, all Windows Mobile devices are pretty much the same software-wise. Essentially, any PocketPC is just a software platform, which you can expand according to your needs - there are so many applications out there and it's a growing business. Beyond the large screen that dominates the Touch, there is relatively little else to talk about. The small d-pad that is located beneath the screen is well designed and easy to use. It is flanked on either side by very small green and red call control keys. A chrome edge separates the dark blue front and rear faces of the Touch. A volume slider is located on the left side, a dedicated camera key on the right. The power key is found on the top of the Touch, and the typical miniUSB power/data port is on the bottom edge. The 2 megapixel camera and self-portrait mirror are located on the back cover. Sending and receiving messages is done through the centralized Inbox. It has separate folders for SMS, MMS and email. SMS length is virtually unlimited, as well as the memory available for received and sent messages. Inside the multimedia editor you will find the useful option to create multi-page messages containing more than one melody, image or text. There's a lot to like about the HTC Touch. It's small, sleek, and yet still powerful. It definitely a solid competitor for the iPhone. It's not for everyone, though. If you write a lot of emails or text messages on your smartphone, you'd be better off with a model that includes a built-in keyboard. Here is a TV commercial of HTC Touch.. we found it on You Tube..
