Sony Ericsson has, along with a couple of other models, released the XPERIA X1. This multimedia combo phone has an arc slider, which means you can slide the screen sideways to bring out the full-QWERTY keyboard.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is one of the most exciting Windows Mobile phones since the Blackjack 2 and the i-mate 9502. With a 800x480 pixel display, it is probably going to be the new reference in terms of productivity and entertainment.
The arc design gives a distinct and unique feel. Slide the screen upwards to reveal the wide pitch QWERTY keyboard. Ample distance between keys makes writing fast and easy. With Windows Mobile, the highest data transfer rate (HSDPA/HSUPA) and WiFi support, you can enjoy your favourite entertainment and work efficiently on the move. Mobile access to everything that is important to you.
A-GPS gives you the freedom to explore the world. Sony Ericsson X1 is a premium mobile experience. The main advertised feature of this smartphone at MWC was the tile home screen layout, giving a page preview layout of nine programs that you can quickly tap or shuffle through to find what you want.
Navigation is made easy with not only the touchscreen panel, but also the 4-way joystick. You can even the panel interface according to your preference. With a mobile connection of GPRS/EDGE with HSDPA/HSUPA, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 also boasts a 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. Measuring 110 x 53 x 16.7 mm, it has been released in black and silver colors.
