Superb Sequel of E61i....

Nokia E71 is among the best-equipped Nokia smartphones to-date. It's quick, responsive & carries a remarkable feature load for its compact size. It is one of Nokia's most attractive smart phones to date. Not only does it look good, its attractive metal casing feels very classy and it's not too heavy or too light.
The earpiece is placed dead center at the top of the front panel. It's flanked by an ambient light sensor to the left and the video-call camera lens to the right. Below is the 2.36" display, followed by the main bank of control and navigation keys and the QWERTY keyboard. The screen, keyboard and controls will get their due coverage in a short while.
On the left side of the handset are the infrared port, the microSD card slot and the microUSB port. The loudspeaker of Nokia E71 is located at the top. The only other thing here is the red power key, which doubles as a shortcut to ringing profiles. At the rear it features the 3 megapixel camera lens, with LED flash and a self-portrait mirror. The whole combo is covered under a transparent layer
A 10mm thick profile ensures it fits inside a pocket comfortably, even though it's wider than your average handset. The screen and Qwerty keypad are well laid-out, a series of shortcut keys below the screen make it easy to access your emails, calendar and contacts. Although the keys are small, they're very usable, because each is raised, making it easy to distinguish between them.
Nokia E71 also sports an advanced call manager for filtering your incoming calls. You can opt for various settings - accepting only calls from your contacts, from all non-private numbers or from anyone. In addition you can set up different ringing profiles that can be scheduled to activate at a certain time. Yyou can also set the behavior of the phone when rejecting a call - busy tone, reject with SMS or answering machine on are some of the options.
Connecting to the Internet to receive emails and browse Web sites is possible almost everywhere you go, via HSDPA (3.5G) or Wi-Fi. Using the built-in Wi-Fi scanner, it's easy to find a hotspot and connect to it. To save battery life, you should turn off Wi-Fi scanning when you're not using it. Surfing the Net is better than with most built-in browsers. Pages are displayed in full and, interestingly, the E71's browser supports Flash and lets you watch YouTube videos, although it's fairly sluggish, audio streams faster than video.
Because it runs on the S60 operating system, you can download a variety of programs, including mobile apps, Opera Mini and Google Maps. The E71 packs GPS, so you can use Google Maps' sat-nav feature to accurately track your location and get directions. You can also use the pre-installed Nokia Maps for navigating around town. It does everything that Google Maps Mobile does, but with a few extras, including being able to save a screenshot and voice navigation
Nokia E71 is a powerful business tool - in fact it is one of the most capable one till date. The Nokia messenger seems a great purchasing option if you're after a device of this kind. If anybody is upgrading from E61 - the keypad and screen of E71 are notably smaller. The performance of Nokia E71 is praiseworthy except the camera.
