Design and technology bound together in an everyday gadget a juicy piece of smartphones' market. Such a way Motorola Aura appears to be a rival to many other phones including Nokia 8800 and others.

It is made od Stainless steel housing panels which are decorated with patterns and fancifully crossing lines. This beauty will last through ages because materials are really of a high quality. The coating around the moving parts is a PVD one – the same technology is used in producing Swiss watches. Aura's keyboard is one of the most intricate keyboards out there. Every key on it is being lined up one by one and carefully polished.

Rotating form factor that was chosen for Motorola Aura by designers became a headache for technicians. To make the rotary mechanism work stable after thousands of openings and closings, more than 700 unique components were tested. Aura doesn't share any of its parts with other Motorola products.

The display and lens are actually record breakers. Motorola has installed in Aura the first ever screen with 16 million colors in it. Resolution is 300 dpi. The whole ensemble is sheltered with a sapphire crystal lens. It weights 62 carats and will prevent the record-breaking screen from being scratched.

The functionality is suitable for a mid-level phone. Aura is quad-band GSM (no 3G), has 2GB of memory, 2MP camera, music and video player and stereo Bluetooth.

Main Features of Motorola Aura:

  • World’s first 16 million color, circular display with 300 dpi resolution in the mobile phone industry.
  • 62 Carat Lens - created from Grade One 62-carat sapphire crystal.
  • Stainless steel housing with chemically etched textures and patterns takes nearly two weeks to sculpt, etch and polish
  • At the center of the mechanical heart is a Swiss-made main bearing, which serves as the foundation allowing the blade to rotate with seamless precision.
  • Custom-engineered rotating mechanism has 130 precision ball bearings that drive the assisted-opening blade.
  • Gears composed of Rockwell 50-55 hardened steel are protected with the same coating used in high-performance racing engines.
  • 700+ Individual Components - Comprised of features including up-scaled, nickel-chrome-plated exposed screws.
  • CrystalTalkTM technology, which delivers supreme clarity and deep resonance to every single conversation an AURA owner has, even in noisy environments
  • PVD coating, the same used when making luxury watches, gives AURA its polished, mirrored shine
  • Aluminum Keypad - Individual aluminum keys are formed, anodized, spin-finish applied and assembled
