LG KM900 Arena
Maxabout Review
Serious i-Phone Rival
Tuesday, April 07, 2009
With a sleek and sexy look, LG's new flagship device, the KM900 Arena, made its debut in Barcelona at the MWC 2009. LG has added a touch of class to the device - its 3D S-Class user interface, to be exact.
The new UI allows for fast and simple navigation while perusing the handset and helps eliminate unnecessary gestures on the Arena's touchscreen display. The menu system, based around a 3D cube interface, lets users scroll, drag, and browse apps easily.
It is very easy to use because of its fast User Interface. Revolve the playful 3D cube to get into four different screens – your contacts, widgets, shortcuts and your customisable home screen.
On to the technical side of things. The phone supports Dolby sound and DivX allowing good quality sound mixed with a fairly standard movie format. Connectivity options include HSDPA networks running at 7.2Mbps, Wi-fi and A-GPS.
KM900 Arena's large and bright 3-inch WVGA (480x800 pixel) TFT display helps for all multimedia facets of the handset, including the viewing of videos and photos taken by the handset's 5 megapixel shooter.
The first thing that strikes about the Arena is the quality of the build, from the brushed metal front and tempered glass screen, to the soft curves around the edges.
The Arena is light (105g) in the hand and sits nicely; its compact size (105.9 x 55.6 x 11.95mm) will appeal to those who don’t want to hold a huge slab of screen to their face like the iPhone or Samsung Omnia HD.
The Arena has 8GB of on-board memory as well as a microSD external card slot storage expansion. Also included on the device is an FM transmitter, Dolby Mobile audio tech for high quality surround sound, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
