Lenovo’s New Smartphone Brand ZUK Officially Announces Z1

ZUK, a China based smartphone OEM backed by Lenovo, has unveiled its first smartphone in the home land today, dubbed as 'ZUK Z1'. While, Lenovo is not the only one who is backing this brand, another Chinese brand known for mobile safety products, Qihoo 360 is also behind the ZUK. It is crafted with an aluminium metal frame and its back will host ZUK logo instead of Lenovo. It is loaded with very interesting feature of reversible USB 3.0 Type-C port which is expected to transfer data with 10 times more speed than USB 2.0.

Feature wise, this dual SIM smartphone packs a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display with 1920x1080 pixels resolution and 1500:1 contrast ratio. It supports built-in fingerprint sensor home button on front frame. The company refer it as a multitasking U-Touch button. It claims that it act as a home button on pressing hard, multitasking on double clicking and back button by gentle touch. It is powered by a 2.5GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. The operating system version offered in this handset is an Android 5.1 Lollipop with ZUI.

For the shutterbugs, Lenovo ZUK Z1 brings 13MP rear and 8MP front-facing camera that offers a number of features like LED flash, OIS, f/2.2 aperture, Sony IMX214 Exmor RS sensor and 1.12um pixels along with OmniVision OV8865 sensor for front camera. The dimension figures of the phone include 155.7 x 77.3 x 8.9 mm and it weighs around 175 grams. On storage front, it has an internal memory of 64GB. While, it offers 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi Direct, bluetooth 4.1, GPS/GLONASS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and USB 3.0 as its connectivity attributes.

The ZUK Z1 comes equipped with a powerful 4100mAh battery under the hood and there are two colors on offer in this smartphone including Grey, White. It comes with a price tag of 1799 Yuan and company is also receiving registrations for this smartphone with a promise of delivery from August 18, 2015.
