LG AKA Smartphone with Animated Eyes and Facial Expressions

LG has launched a new smartphone called the 'AKA' on 11th Nov, 2014 in South Korea. There are no words found regarding its availability in other countries. One may find this thing silly but this Android based smartphone has eyes. The eyes tries to establish an emotional connection with the user by peeking out from its case.

The LG AKA comes with a 5-inch IPS HD capacitive touchscreen which provides a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. The dimension figures include a height of 138.7 mm, width of 71.9 mm and a thickness of 9.9 mm. The handset weighs around 135.5 grams without the front cover and 157 grams including the cover. Powering the smartphone is a Quad-core 1.2 GHz processor and 1.5 GB of RAM. It has an internal storage of 16 GB which can be expanded further via microSD.
 
Highlighting the rear part of phone is a 8 MP camera which is featured with laser auto focus and a LED flash while the 2 MP front-facing camera is also there to capture selfies. The phones also comes loaded with a number of connectivity options including 4G LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi, microUSB, GPS and Bluetooth v4.0. Backing up the device is a 2610 mAh battery which is non removable.
 
The eyes of LG AKA react to emotions and serve as a sort of notifications for the users. The eyes shows some typical expressions like when you shake the phone, they will get dizzy and look down when you need to take the phone out of the case which means that there is a notification. The color of eyes changes from red to green in order to indicate different moods.
 
There are four different cases available for this mobile phone which are Yellow, White, Balck and Pink. The case colors represents various personalities and they have their own unique names which are Wooky, Eggy, YoYo and Soul. Wooky is white and is a bit of a bully, Eggy is yellow and easily falls in love, Soul comes in Black and is a music lover, YoYo is Pink and has difficulties sticking to its diet. You can buy these different color cases and switch between the Aka personalities. This must be priced under the LG G's mid range series.
