Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ with Curved Dual Edge Display Officially Announced

Samsung, today has announced its another high-end smartphone under Galaxy series dubbed as 'Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+'. The company made it official in an event called 'Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2015' that took place in New York City. The smartphone comes loaded with various new features like fingerprint sensor at home button, safety tools like KNOX Active Protection and My Knox app. The device is fully loaded with upgraded features and it seems that company has designed it by considering today's life structure. Its wireless battery charger support and faster charging capabilities will definitely make it winner of its segment.

Talking about the specs, Galaxy S6 edge+ comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED curved dual edge display at front which offers a screen resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system and packs an Octa-core ((Quad 2.1GHz + Quad 1.5GHz) 64 bit, 14 nm Exynos 7420 processor under the hood along with 4GB RAM. The dimension figure of the device includes 154.4x75.8x6.9mm and it weighs at 153 grams. Design wise, it shares some features with sibling Galaxy S6 edge and it has curved body from both the sides.

For the shutterbugs, it possesses a 16MP rear camera that includes LED flash, 4K (UHD) video recording, OIS and f/1.9 aperture features. On the front frame, it has 5MP camera with f/1.9 aperture support. On connectivity front, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ offers 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and Wi-Fi 802.1 ac (2x2 MIMO). Storage wise, it will offer two versions -32GB and 64GB internal memory. The company has fuelled it up with 3000mAh battery under the hood that supports fast charging (wired and wireless). For the user comforts, it also includes a heart rate sensor.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ has total four color options including Gold Platinum, White Pearl, Silver Titanium and Black Sapphire. It comes with a price tag of $815 (INR 54,200) for 32GB variant and $915 (INR 59,700) for 64GB variant. It will be available in Canada and US from August 21, 2015 while the booking in these countries will start from today only.
