Sony Announces Xperia Z2 Tablet at the MWC 2014

Sony has announced its dust and water resistant tablet, 'Sony Xperia Z2' at the MWC 2014 held in Spain. This new entrant is the successor to the Sony Xperia Tablet Z. It comes in a 10.1-inch full HD display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 that is completely water proof. Inside, it has a 2.3Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor along with 3GB RAM. Operating system version offered in this tablet is the latest Android 4.4 KitKat. Storage wise, it supports internal memory of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.

The dimensions of the device are measured as 266x172x6.4mm and weighs at 426 grams. The tablet features digital noise cancellation technology and it is touted to be the world's slimmest tablet offered by Sony Mobiles. This waterproof tablet comes with IP55/IP58 certification.

Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet brings an wonderful camera of 8MP with Exmor R for mobile sensor and 2.2MP front facing camera for video calling and selfies. On connectivity front, it offers DLNA, Wi-Fi 802 a/b/g/n, NFC, LTE/3G HSPA+ and Bluetooth. It supports 2G (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900), 3G (HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 - SGP541, SGP521, SGP551) and 4G (LTE 700/800/850/900/1700/ 1800/1900/2100/2600 MHz) network frequencies. In the terms of multimedia, it is packed with music player, video player, image viewer, FM Radio and games. 

Company has fueled it up with non-removable 6000mAh battery which is rated for up to 1260 hours of talktime on 2G and up to 1200 hours of talk time on 3G network.. Additional feature of the tablet includes FM Radio, front surround audio technology, 3.5mm audio jack. Xperia Z2 is expected to launch worldwide from March this year. It will be available only in two color options: Black and White.
