The Nokia N9 is a beautifully crafted smartphone launched in June, 2011 by popular manufacturer, Nokia. It comes loaded with many high end features and has a single SIM configuration. It runs on fast and reliable MeeGo operating system.

Processor and OS

At the heart, N9 has a 1Ghz Cortex A8 processor with TI OMAP 3630 chipset and PowerVR SGX530 GPU that delivers a smooth app performance and let its users do multiple things easily. It is coupled with a 1GB RAM which is quite less. Running the device is a MeeGo 1.2 Harmatten operating system.

Display and Dimensions

N9 has a 3.9-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 480x854 pixels resolution that supports multi touch gestures. The screen flaunts a 16M colors depth and 251ppi pixel density to ensure the true life clarity to its users. For the protection of the screen, it has Corning Gorilla Glass coating and anti-glare Polariser. The dimensions of the phone are measured as 116.4x61.2x12.1 mm along with the weight of 135 grams. It also includes sensors like accelerometer, compass and proximity.

Camera and Storage

To let you capture every moment, it comes equipped with an autofocus 8MP rear camera with LED flash, Carl Zeiss optics, Geo-tagging, touch-focus and face detection features. The highest picture resolution you can set is the 3264x2448 pixels. It is also capable of capturing HD videos and for the selfies there is secondary camera available at the front panel. In the terms of storage, it supports 16/64 GB internal memory which is good enough for heavy storage. The phone lacks a microSD card.

Connectivity and Battery

The phone offers WiFi, GPRS and Edge for the data connections. While, to assist wireless data sharing it has Bluetooth along with a USB for the PC connections. For the smooth functioning and unrivalled service, it has a Li-ion 1450mAh battery that delivers 380 hours of stand-by time on 2G and 450 hours on 3G network while it gives 2G and 3G talk time of up to 11 hours and 7 hours respectively.

Entertainment

For the music buff, N9 has FM Radio and audio player which support audio formats like MP3, WAV, FLAC player, eAAC+ and WMA. You can send as well as receive SMS, MMS, Email, Push Email and IM with predictive text input. Other features it offers are active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, TV-out, Dolby digital plus, video/photo editor, and voice memo/command/dial. It also comes pre-loaded with document viewer like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF.
