Olive Fluid: Affordable Android-Powered Handset

Olive Fluid V-W1 is a smartphone by the Olive mobile company that was announced in the year 2011. It is a true symbol of technology and simplicity put together in a small device.

Design and Display

Its dimension figures includes a height of 109 mm, width of 52 mm and thickness of 14.8 mm along with a weight of 117 grams. Although it is not among the slimmest smartphones, but is easy enough to carry and hold. The phone features a 3.5 inches multi-touch, TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 320x480 pixels that gives a comfortable viewing experience.

Hardware and Software

The device is powered by a 0.468 GHz Single Core processor and has the goodness of Android v2.1 Operating system. As far as storage is concerned, the device is loaded with 256 MB of internal memory which is expandable up to 32 GB with a microSD card. The feature of proximity sensor further saves your battery while you are on call.

Telephony and Messaging

Olive Fluid V-W1 works on both 2G GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz and 3G HSDPA 900 / 2100 MHz network frequencies. For messaging, it facilitates you to do SMS, MMS and Email. Along with that, the phone avails the IMAP, POP3 and Microsoft Exchange email technologies. Also there is a push mail feature to keep you notified of each new mail. The on-screen keyboard with the portrait and landscape orientation, further makes the typing easier.

Camera

The Olive Fluid comes bundled with a 3 MP rear shooter which takes pictures at a max of 2048x1536 pixels resolution. The camera can be easily converted into a video recorder with just a click. So it helps you to take clear pictures and amazing videos with just one camera.

Entertainment

The phone comes with quite a few goodies to keep you busy. There is a MP3 music player which lets you to listen to your favorite track anytime. Plus the 3.5 mm audio jack further lets you to connect earphones of your choice. Other than this, it has been loaded with a video player, voice recorder, image viewer and FM radio. To remain in-touch with your friends and relatives, it supports social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. With this phone, you can take the TV along as it features a free six month subscription of Zenga TV which supports various popular channels like Headlines Today, Bindass, MTV, Colors etc. For the gamers, it gives you a wide selection of games from the android market.

Connectivity and Battery

Coming to the networking department, the Olive Fluid has the 3G internet support for using connectivity options of GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi. Thus, the websites will load at a lightening fast speed. The Universal Search engine is also there to help in easy and quick browsing. For transferring data between the devices and PC Synchronization, it also features Bluetooth and micro USB connectivity The stand alone feature of this phone is its inbuilt GPS chip and the Google Maps which lets you navigate through any unknown place. You can also layer your maps with the Google Buzz, traffic, terrain and satellite data. On the battery front, the device is fueled with a Li-ion battery of 1300 mAh which claims a standby time of 192 hours and talktime of 4 hours.
