Samsung has announced the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 smartphones in the month of October, 2014. The device comes in a pack with a charger, headset, USB cable, user manual and a warranty card. Let's check out the specifications of this smartphone in detail.

Design and Display

As far as designing is concerned, the Galaxy A3 looks much similar to other Samsung smartphones. It has got a height of 130.1 mm, width of 65.5 mm and a thickness of 6.9 mm as its dimension figures along with a weight of 110.3 grams. The smartphone flaunts a Super AMOLED display of 4.5-inches which provides a resolution of 540x960 pixels and a 245 ppi pixel density. The phone has the ability to display 16 million colors and is multi-touch in function.

Hardware and Software

Powering the device is a Quad-core 1.2 GHz processor with Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chip-set and Adreno 306 GPU to ensure a snappy performance. It has a RAM of 1 GB and an internal memory of 16 GB which can be expanded to another 64 GB with the help of a micro SD card. The Galaxy A3 is based on the Android v4.4.4 KitKat operating system which has enough power to handle the apps which are thrown on its way.

Telephony and Messaging

The Smasung Galaxy A3 works well with 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz), 3G (HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100 MHz) and 4G (LTE 700 MHz) network frequencies. The user can store a huge number of contacts to its phonebook memory. For messaging and emailing, the phone has SMS, MMS, email, push mail and IM like facilities.

The Galaxy A3 boasts an excellent 8 MP rear shooter which has the ability to capture 3264x2448 pixels resolution pictures. The audio player of Galaxy A3 offers a clear, crisp sound whether you use a pair of earphones or a loudspeaker. One can record and play full HD videos on the device. It comes pre-loaded with various apps for the users comfort. The motion gaming, video streaming and 3D games offers enjoyable experience.

Connectivity and Battery

There are stacks of connectivity features as well that includes GPS, A-GPS with GLONASS, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth v4.0, NFC, micro USB v2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Wi-Fi hotspot functionality. The Samsung Galaxy A3 is equipped with a non-removable Li-Ion 1900 mAh battery which offers a better usage.
