Samsung is a South Korean multinational company which was founded by Lee-Byung-chul in 1938. Its headquarters are located in Samsung Town, Seoul, South Korea. Now, a days, its a world leading manufacturer of electronic gadgets. The company has announced two new smartphones the Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Duos and Samsung Galaxy Pocket 2 Duos in the month of June, 2014. They are expected to be launched in a few days. Let's take a look at the Galaxy Core 2 Duos.

Design and Display

Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Duos seems to be a good phone with excellent built quality. The handset has a height of 130.2mm, width of 67.9mm and a thickness of 9.8mm as its dimensions along with a weight of 138grams. The front of phone is dominated by a TFT capacitive touchscreen of 4.5-inches which provides a resolution of 800x480 pixels and a 207ppi pixel density. It also has accelerometer and proximity sensors. There is a single hard key present at the bottom of display along with two feather touch soft keys. 

Hardware and Software

The device is powered by a Quad-core 1.2 GHz processor and a RAM of 768 MB. The Galaxy Core 2 Duos has an internal storage of 4 GB which can be expanded up to 64 GB with the help of a micro SD card. It runs on the latest Android v4.4.2 KitKat operating system that handles the apps efficiently.

Telephony and Messaging

Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Duos is a dual SIM device that operates on 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz) and 3G (HSDPA 900/2100MHz) frequencies. SMS (threaded view), MMS, IM, RSS, email and push mail are the messaging and emailing facilities available for this smartphone. It is also featured with predictive text input.

Camera

The smartphone has a rear camera of 5 MP which gives a photo resolution of 2592x1944 pixels and is featured with an LED flash, auto-focus, touch focus, Geo-tagging, face and smile detection. On the other hand, secondary camera has a 0.3 MP count which provides a 640x480 pixels resolution and enables the users to video calling.

Multimedia

Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Duos has an impressive music player which offers you clear and crisp sound. It also features FM radio which gives you uninterrupted and better signals. The video player gives you amazing picture quality with great surround sound. It comes pre-loaded with some of the apps like Google search, Google talk, maps, calendar, Gmail, You-Tube, picasa, document viewer, image viewer and editor. The HTML browser is there to handle the apps, thrown on its way.

Connectivity and Battery

The connectivity attributes of the device includes 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot and micro USB v2.0. It has A-GPS and GLONASS support for better navigation. It comes equipped with a Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery which can stay longer even with extensive usage.

Shades and Price

Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Duos is available in two color options that are Black and White. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs.16,000- Rs.17,000, may vary.
