Samsung Galaxy J1 is one of the slimmest smartphone of very popular Galaxy series of Samsung. It was announced in January and launched in February, 2015. It comes with slim profile, modern design and round edges to attract the masses. Samsung has done a great job to make this device perfect from all the factors. It supports a power packed battery that offers ultra power saving mode to reduce the power consumption when not in use. The device also have dual SIM slot to divide your personal and professional life.

Display and Design

Designed by using a bar format, this device comes equipped with a 4.3- inch TFT display at front which provides a picture resolution of 480x800 pixels and 16M color depth. The screen is ideal for gaming, texting and photography. Measurement wise, it has a height of 129.0 mm, width of 68.2 mm and thickness of 8.9 mm along with a weight of 122 grams. The device supports accelerometer and proximity sensors to automate some of routine tasks.

Processor and OS

It provides a lag free service to its users through a 1.2 GHz Dual-core Cortex-A7 processor and 512 MB RAM. It delivers high performance with less power consumption and more standby time. The operating system version offered in this phone is an Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

Camera and Memory

For the photography, it comes equipped with an auto-focus 5 MP camera at the back panel which provides a picture resolution of 2592x1944 pixels. The LED flash with main camera allows you to click pictures in dim light condition. Other camera features of the phone includes geo-tagging, face detection, touch-focus. On the other hand, it has 2 MP front-facing camera for selfies. One can also record and play HD videos. Storage wise, there is 4 GB internal memory present in the phone which can be further expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card.

Connectivity and Battery

The connectivity features of the phone includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB v2.0. The phone has FM radio for the entertainment purpose and messaging facilities of the phone includes SMS, MMS, Email and push Email. The battery ticking inside the phone is of 1850 mAh unit which is rated to deliver 3G talktime of up to 10 hours and music playback time of up to 40 hours.
