Samsung Galaxy S: For Sizzling Entertainment
The Samsung Galaxy S is yet another proof that the Samsung engineers always to aspire to think beyond our galaxy, i.e. the Milky Way. The phone makes use of version 2.2 of the Android operating system, also known as Froyo. Its central processing unit combines the magic of three heavyweights: a 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, a Hummingbird chipset and a PowerVR SGX540 GPU. Its display is 4.0 inches, 480 x 800 pixels. With the capability of showing 16M colors, the super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen will leave no bitter taste in the user’s mouth—or eyes for that matter. To maximize the potential of the screen, there is Gorilla Glass Display in place.
For sizzling entertainment, the Galaxy S comes with an MP4/DivX/WMV/H.264/H.263 player and also an MP3/WAV/eAAC+/AC3/FLAC player. These two work with the phone’s loudspeaker or the 3.5 mm earphone jack to ensure that the user gets maximum enjoyment from the various audio-visual media stored in the phone. There are also preinstalled games plus a provision for downloading more. You can trust a phone with a Java MIDP emulator to load and run a variety of games. The phone provides the user with some other fun features like a proximity sensor for auto turn-off, practically unlimited phonebook capacity, email, social network integration . . . just to mention a few. The Galaxy S is powered by a standard Li-Ion battery, rated 1650 mAh. This battery promises stand-by time of up to 300 hours.
