Samsung Galaxy Star 2 Duos is a regular bar shaped phone of the galaxy series introduced by popular giant Samsung. It has a dual SIM compatibility with dual GSM support. The phone holds a low-end features and it falls in a budget smartphones segment. It was announced in June 2014.

Processor and OS

The Galaxy Star 2 Duos is powered by a single-core processor that clocked at a speed of 1GHz. It comes coupled with 512MB RAM to allow space for the data that need fast access. Operating the device is a latest Android 4.4 KitKat operating system that delivers smooth app performance and do multiple things easily.

Display and Dimensions

The phone has a 3.5-inch TFT capacitive touch screen along with a display resolution of 320x480 pixels. To ensure the sharper visuals, it has 165ppi pixel density. The phone has a length of 109.8mm, width of 59.9mm and thickness of 11.8mm as its dimensions. While with the weight of 107.6 grams, the phone is light in weight. The screen is built with only accelerometer sensor.

Camera and Memory

The phone comes equipped with a normal 2 MP camera on the back panel for capturing every special moment. The picture quality it delivers is acceptable in well lit surroundings and the highest resolution one can set for the pictures is 1600x1200 pixels. You can also record as well as play videos of 480 pixels at 24 fps. The phone lack secondary camera. To store all the essential data like contacts, messages and other applications, it supports an internal memory of 4GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB with the help of microSD card.

Connectivity and Battery

In the terms of connectivity, Galaxy Star 2 Duos supports 2G network, Wi-Fi, GPRS, EDGE. For wireless data sharing, it features Bluetooth and if you want to connect with other devices, it offers a USB port and 3.5mm audio jack. The battery ticking inside is a 1300 mAh unit which may seem small but it is enough for a device which hosts such a modest set of specifications.

Entertainment

Galaxy Star 2 supports FM Radio and music system for the entertainment of its users along with a messaging facilities like SMS, MMS, Email, Push Email and IM. It also facilitates predictive text input mode for the fast and easy typing. Some apps like Google Talk, Gmail, Picasa, Google Search, Maps and YouTube also comes pre-loaded on the phone.

It comes with only two color options i.e. Black and White.
