After the huge success of Samsung Star & Star 3G Samsung India has launched another feature rich full touchscreen handset - The Corby S3653. It is an incredibly compact and likeable device which features a 2.8" QVGA capacitive touchscreen. The deisgn of Samsung Corby S3650 is very youthful and cheerful from the flashy-colored back panel to the sleek and smart looking front. Moreover, the rear panel can be easily replaced if you feel tired of the current color and the manufacturer has promised the phone will come with two extra panels, so you can personalize the color to suit your mood. This focus on cutting-edge design extends to the user interface through a Cartoon User Interface, a highly stylised graphical menu and wallpaper that adapts according to handset functionality
Aside from send and end keys, there is an interestingly shaped button located below the screen that gets you one step back into the menus. Unlike the high-end Samsung handsets, the Corby doesn’t have a multitasking menu. Moreover, it comes without 3.5mm jack and microUSB, so you charge the phone using the manufacturer´s proprietary port. A lot of communication options are available in Samsung. You can update your current status and access friends updates and live feeds via Facebook, MySpace and Twitter through a simple Pop-up SNS (Social Networking Service) notification feature. The handset also supports various community sites by integrating leading user-generated content sites such as YouTube, Flickr, Picasa and Photobucket and other popular SNS sites directly into the handsets user interface. You can also upload photos and videos to these sites through this Communities solution.
Samsung Corby incorporates Samsung's new Touchwiz User Interface and haptic feedback system making touch screen operations simple and easy to use. You can further customise the handset and interface with useful applications and widgets that move with drag-and-drop ease. Corby also supports one finger zoom and smart unlock. These are Samsung's own unique technologies that are incorporated in most of the company's premium full touch devices such as the Samsung Jet. One finger zoom enables consumers to zoom in and out with one finger while Smart unlock is a feature which enables users to unlock the phone and use the menu by drawing a letter on the screen.

But there are some major drawbacks in Corby like it has no accelerometer, no on-screen QWERTY keyboard and the shiny screen reflects in the sunlight which makes almost impossible to read text. Also camera has got no flash and autofocus. But overall Samsung Corby has a satisfying performance, its widget-ready user interface functions well and camera interface is easy to use and is quite user friendly. It uses a NetFront web browser which runs fast enough on it. It seems like Samsung India has another winner in its hands. Samsung Corby is priced at Rs. 9600/- which is very affordable and value for money deal in comparison to features it offers. It is expected that Corby is going to be a hit among students and young buyers who prefer a cool looking touch screen mobile phone.
