Sony is a Japanese multinational corporation that designs and develops electronic gadgets. Its headquarters are located in Tokyo, Japan. The company has announced a new smartphone the Xperia Z2a in June, 2014. It is expected to be launched in Taiwan first and after that it can hit the Indian markets. This is a speculation that whether it will be known as ZL2 or Z2a. Let's take a look at this smartphone.

Design and Display

Sony Xperia Z2a is designed very precisely with high quality materials that grabs attention of masses almost everywhere. This bar shaped device measures 137mm in height, 72 mm in width and 10.8 mm in thickness and has a weight of 167grams. The 5-inches Triluminous IPS display of Z2a is powered by X-reality which provides a high resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and is dust and water resistant. The phone features only three feather touch keys for back, home and options which are given at the bottom of the display.

Hardware and Software

The Xperia Z2a is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor with Adreno 330 GPU and Qualcomm snapdragon 801 MSM8974AB chip-set. The device has an internal storage of 16 GB which can be expanded to another 128 GB via micro SD card. It runs on Android v4.4 KitKat with Sony Xperia UI and has a massive RAM of 3 GB.

Telephony and Messaging

This device operates on GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz, HSDPA 850/900/1700/2100/2100MHz and LTE 1800/700/900MHz frequencies. The phonebook has a capacity to store an unlimited number of contacts. SMS, MMS and email are some of the messaging facilities available for Xperia Z2a. The predictive text input and T9 dictionary is there to facilitate typing.

Camera

The Xperia z2a features a 20.7 MP rear shooter which takes 5248x3936 pixel resolution pictures and is featured with a LED flash, Exmor RS sensor, Sony G lens, 4k video recording and a digital zoom. The front-facing camera is of 3.1 MP which enables the users to video conferencing.

Multimedia

The Xperia Z2a offers amazing sound quality which is even better with the supplied headphones. One can record full HD videos on to the phone that looks pleasing on the wide screen of Z2a. The FM radio give you better and uninterrupted signals at all the times. It comes pre-loaded with various apps for the entertainment of users.

Connectivity and Battery

The connectivity options available for the device are GPRS, EDGE, 3G, 4G, Bluetooth v4.0, micro USB, NFC, Wi-Fi802.11 b/g/n and hands-free connectivity. The A-GPS support offers you with navigation. The Xperia Z2a comes equipped with a Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery which delivers a talk-time up to 22 hours and a stand-by time up to 640 hours.
