Technology Happy Life (ThL) - the Chinese smartphone maker has recently launched its ThL 5000 which is the world's first smartphone to have 5000 mAh battery.
ThL 5000 has a plastic body carved in a bar format. It measures 144.9 mm in height, 70.4 mm in width and 8.9 mm in thickness as its dimensions. Its front panel is dominated by a beautiful 5 inches capacitive touchscreen with the 5-point touch ability and provides a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. For its protection, it has adopted the One Glass Solution and Corning Gorilla Glass technology. The impressive pixels-per-inch figure of 441 makes the text and images look crisper and sharper.
Powering the device is a 1.7 GHz Cortex A7 Octa Core processor based on MediaTek MT6592 chipset which ensures snappy performance. This has been accompanied by 2 GB RAM, Mali-450 MP4 GPU, gravity sensor and Hall IC sensor. Some basic sensors that have been included to enhance its capabilities are accelerometer, ambient light, gyro, compass and proximity sensors. The device operates on the latest Android v4.4 KitKat Operating system and uses 32 GB as its internal memory and supports a microSD card too.
The smartphone operates on 2G ( GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz ) and 3G ( HSDPA 850 / 2100 MHz ) network frequencies. To enable messaging, it avails option of SMS, MMS, Email and IM. Predictive Text Input and T9 dictionary can also be used to type faster and accurately.
ThL 5000 has assembled a 13 MP rear shooter with features like LED Flash, digital zoom, geo-tagging, touch-focus, auto-focus, face detection etc. The camera has been powered by an in-built close loop motor, F2.0 aperture and Sony Exmor RS sensor. All this ensures crisp and clear shots in all conditions. There is a 5 MP front snapper also which helps to take selfies. Videos can also be recorded with both its camera's at a resolution of 720x1080 pixels.
For entertainment, the device packs a music player, video player, image viewer, FM radio and games. NXP audio amplifier has been used to provide superb sound quality. Social networking services has also been supported to stay in touch with friends and family. Plus various games, applications, e-books etc can be downloaded on the phone from the Android market. The support for 3.5 mm audio jack further acts as universal acceptor of headsets.
The device performs quite well on the networking part. It avails various options to connect with the web like EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot and NFC. The data is transferred at HDPA + speed of 42.2 Mbps. There is GPS system with A-GPS support to give you accurate navigation information. Other than this you can transfer data between compatible devices with its Bluetooth and USB OTG connectivity. The stand alone feature of the phone is its battery backup. It adopts the latest silicon anode Li-Polymer battery of 5000 mAh. This claims a max stand-by time of 1000 hours and max talktime of 47 hours.
