The XOLO 8X-1000 HIVE is a first handset by Xolo comes with an Octa-core processor and HIVE user interface. It was launched in August, 2014 at a very affordable price. This beautifully designed smartphone has a dual SIM configuration and it can stand out in a crowd with its sheer good looks.

Display and Dimensions

The phone features a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen at the front with a display resolution of 720x1280 pixels. The screen flaunts a 16M color depth and 294ppi pixel density to let you experience real life clarity while watching pictures and videos etc. It gets a damage resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection to save it from scratches. The handset has an ultra slim body with the thickness measure as 7.9mm only. While, the length and width of the phone is measured as 140mm and 70mm respectively.

Processor and OS

The Xolo Hive comes powered with an Octa-core processor that operates at 1.4GHz, MT6592M chipset and Mali 450 GPU. It is coupled with a 2GB RAM for sufficient amount of room for the data that requires fast access. Together it allows the device to solve all the possible tasks within seconds. It runs on new Hive Android OS which provides more polished design, new features and improved performance.

Camera and Memory

You can click your precious moments and record videos with an auto-focus 8MP rear camera loaded in the phone with Exmor R sensor, LED flash and 5 piece element lens. The highest resolution you can set for your pictures is 3264x2448 pixels. For the selfies and video calling, it comes equipped with a 2MP camera on the front panel. In terms of memory, the phone supports an internal memory of 16GB that can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

Multimedia

With all the essential specs, the phone also supports music system and FM Radio for the music buff. It allows you to send SMS, MMS, Email, Push Email and IM with predictive text input mode as a messaging facilities. Some other tools like organizer, Photo editor, video editor, voice memo/ dial are also come pre- loaded in the phone.

Connectivity and Battery

The device supports Wi-Fi for the faster internet experience and GPS to navigate the directions. It supports USB cable for PC connections and Bluetooth for wireless data sharing. It has got a Li-Ion battery of 1920 mAh unit which appears pretty less, but company claims that it provides a talk time of up to 11 hours with 2Gstandby time of up to 352 hours and 3G standby time of up to 321 hours. Moreover, the phone works on 2G (GSM 900/1800 ) and 3G (HSDPA 900/2100) network frequencies.
