Overview

The Q75 Ezpad

Overview of Micromax Q75

Micromax Q75 is a dual SIM mobile phone released in 2010 by Micromax, which is based in Gurgaon, Haryana. It has a dimension of 115 x 64.5 x 12.2 mm and has a QWERTY keypad which allows texting easy. It comes with a trackball option which allows smooth navigation. It has a 2.4 inches QVGA TFT display screen with a resolution of 320x240 pixels. This model has a 3.15 MP rear camera with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels, having video recording function and having no secondary Camera. Its memory can be extended up to 8 GB using micro SD cards. It allows maximum 1000 entries in the phone book.

The phone is also enabled with GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The Zenga mail feature in this QWERTY handset allows access of multiple mail accounts through one application. It comes with preinstalled social networking applications, like Facebook, NimBuzz apps etc. The Micromax Q75 has a 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery, with standby time of up to 240 hours and talk time up to 7 hours. It features MP3/MP4 player and FM radio. It is available only in black shade. This Wi-Fi enabled phone is one of the best phones in its segment. The Micromax Q75 is an awesome example of value for money. The phone focuses on the point of being connected. The phone also includes social networking shortcuts and it is so easy and smooth that life becomes a cakewalk when one owns a Micromax Q75.

Design and Build Quality

The Micromax Q75 has a full QWERTY keyboard with a trackball in the middle. It has a 2.4 inch display and comes in a solid black bar style. Overall, the build quality is solid.

User Interface and Comfort to Use

The track pad helps to make navigating through the phone very easy. Its user interface is also very simple with icons for many functions including a dedicated Facebook application.

Telephony and Phonebook

1000 entries can be saved on your phonebook on the Q75. Voice clarity is also very high when using the phone to make and receive phone calls.

Messaging and Emails

You are capable of sending and receiving text and picture messages on the Micromax Q75. The QWERTY style keyboard makes it easy to create messages. The Zenga mail feature will allow you to access multiple email accounts through the application.

Gallery, Photo Viewer and Video Player

The gallery will allow you to view photos on the Q75. Pictures do not show up very well on the device however. There is a video player that supports AVI, 3GP, and MP4 files. Video quality is choppy and unrefined.

Music Player and FM Radio

A music player will allow you to store and play music as long as you install a microSD card. There is almost no storage on the Q75 to allow for additional files. MP3, AMR, MIDI, and WAV files are all supported music formats. There is also a stereo FM radio that will allow you to listen to live music. A 3.5mm audio jack allows you to input any headphone that size into the handset. Audio quality is adequate for the device, nothing that will blow you away.

Still Camera and Image Quality

A 3.15 MP camera will 2048x1536 pixel display actually turns out very low quality shots. This isn't the primary device to use for your photo needs.

Video Camera and Video Quality

The video camera allows you to take video as long as you have a microSD with memory available. Due to the poor quality, you will want to avoid using the video feature if possible.

Connectivity Options

This is a dual SIM device that does not offer dual standby. This means if you are busy one number on a call, then if someone calls your other number, the caller will receive a message saying you are out of range. GSM bands 900 and 1800 are both supported on the Q75. There is 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity support.

Web Browser and Applications

An Opera Mini, WAP 2.0 browser comes pre-installed on the Q5. Facebook, Twitter, and instant messenger Nimbuzz are all applications that are loaded into the device.

Value for Money

Available for INR 2699 (approx., may vary); the Micromax Q75 is a very affordable device.

Battery Life

Talk time on the Micromax Q75 comes in at 7 hours with 240 hours of standby.

Verdict

Micromax Q75 is not a multimedia powerhouse by any means. But for the price, you get some decent features like Wi-Fi. If you are looking for a solid handset that has internet capability, the Q75 is worth a look.
