Gionee Elife S5.5 Launched in India for Rs. 23000

Gionee has launched the world's slimmest smartphone, Gionee Elife S5.5 for the Indian market at Rs. 23000. It was introduced in the Chinese market last month and the company has also showcased it at Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona.. The set has a metal frame and its thickness is measured as 5.5mm.

Talking about its specs, Elife S5.5 comes with a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED touch screen display along with the resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. Its front is coated with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection to save it from scratches. It is powered by a 1.7Ghz Octa-core processor with Mediatek MT6592 chipset and 2GB LPDDR3 RAM for the fast apps functioning. Operating the device is a Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.

Dimensions of the phone are measured as 145.1x70.2x5.5 mm and it weighs only 130 grams. For the shutterbugs, it brings a 13MP camera at back panel and 5MP camera at front. In the terms of storage, it supports an internal memory of 16GB but it does not support microSD card. Connectivity features of the phone includes Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G network and USB OTG. It draws back-up from a 2300 mAh battery that promises a 27 hours and 490 hours of talktime and standby time respectively.

Gionee Elife S5.5 comes with five striking colors to choose from, including Purple, White, Blue, Pink and Black. It would go on sale from the mid of April with the price tag of Rs. 23000. As there are many Android smartphones available in the market, it might go through tough competition.
